Print Ideas

For my botanical print I have been looking at the Lady Slipper Orchid and how I can incorporate that into a print maybe inlcuidng the cells and dna of the plant.

Sketchbook

Two weeks left up until pattern cutting! Sketchbook is looking okay now to focus on actually having some design sheets completed.

Botanical Gardens

We are yet to have our new brief, but today in textiles we went to the botanical gardens to take pictures and gather inspiration for our prints. I admit I got distracted at times by making interesting colours and patterns opposed to useful inspiration for print.



Wax .......

Had the urge to do be messy, so started to think of some inspiration for our next brief. I really like some of the textures and shapes I created with the wax and petals.



Life Drawing - Flesh Tones

An experimentation in creating our own flesh tones. I really enjoyed this and think i created some accurate and interesting colours. I feel I am a lot more prepared for next weeks study. I learnt some useful things about how I work with paint, that I will be able to take forward.

Royal Blue Garment and Crit

Crit today went well, overall pleased with this project. Think I spent to long looking at this need some time away from it to really evaluate how the garment went. I really like aspects of my design and loved my final choice of fabrics. Final thing I need to do is finish lining and make a decision on the trimmings. Definitely want to embellish them but still unsure whether to die them. Gut instinct is not too!

Inspiration

Bored in the car, I looked for inspiration for our new brief messing with the camera I took these. Quite looking forward to it now!
